An Achilles Heel
A sonnet
Oct 9, 2020
You and I flew into the strangest love
opposites apart, together a force
swarming sensations I’d only dreamt of
butterfly’s dancing away into storms.
Fiery passion flourished between us
flames we couldn’t extinguish, had we tried
only man I could invariably trust
you were the one I desired for life.
Prudently, I placed my heart in your hands
our souls entwined and I began to heal
it took awhile but now I understand
love will always be my Achilles heel.
Though our love has all but diminished now
a spark awaits the day you come around.
