Submission

A poem

It’s gone.

The words,

The magic,

The beauty.

All that’s left are the ashes

from a fire they say is too much.

They feed me medicine

pills that rid me of

Manic moods

Depressed days

My colorful cycle

I miss the way my mind worked

before they drugged it into submission.
