Freedom in Finding Myself

A sonnet

(Photo by Sasha Freemind on Unsplash)

Shudder the thought of a spiritless soul

though disheartened, doubts don’t declare defeat.

Wayward without you, cold and uncontrolled

painful promises past have no reprieve.

Obscure obsessions of love overdue

breathlessly bound by boldly brazen beliefs,

faithful fantasies, forever with you

reality ruins reckless reverie.

It’s intangible and impossible

should everlasting enchantment ensue,

perpetual passion not probable-

faux fables are flawlessly forged by you.

Why do I wallow in wasted worn dreams?

When I learn to love myself, I’ll be free.
