Forbidden Fruit
Dear forbidden fruit, how I want a taste
in and out of your dark garden I dance
comfort is found in this familiar place
I know my demise is here in your hands.
Sour, when my teeth sink deep into you
kind of fruit that quenches an impure soul
completely aware the pain that ensues
secretly, only you and I shall know
Hidden beneath delusions, lies and leaves
a place to put my endless thoughts to rest
can’t escape your garden, won’t ever leave
you can have all of me without contest.
Tried many times to desert you before,
you’re the one thing I could never ignore.
